AI (German: KI) has long since arrived in our children’s classrooms. The next generation of workers is already taking advantage of generative AI such as ChatGPT. Copilot is also already integrated into the development environment we developers use and makes day-to-day work considerably easier. The time savings from AI support benefit our customers directly. The same will apply to the internal costs of an accountant or tax advisor when less time has to be spent on recurring tasks.
Microsoft is working hard to bring Copilot, Microsoft’s AI assistance software, into its entire product range. Copilot is not merely an integration of ChatGPT; it results from a combination of Microsoft 365 apps, Microsoft Graph and users’ own data together with a large language model.Microsoft’s AI can be used in many ways and is already available with a number of preview features. You can either use a chat prompt – similar to ChatGPT – and give Copilot instructions in text form, or use ready-made functions that can be clicked via a link.

The tasks that individual employees have to complete in the ERP system today are highly varied and in part time-consuming. Microsoft’s Copilot AI will bring a considerable speed advantage here in the future. One example is bank account reconciliation, where general ledger entries are matched with bank entries in order to apply received payments to invoices automatically, for instance.
