Starting point
The company used Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 as a core system for accounting and ERP processes. As with many NAV environments of that generation, the system was not a simple standard installation. It had been adapted over time to reflect the company’s specific operational and accounting requirements.
The existing solution included C/AL customizations, historically grown data structures and productive business logic. For the customer, moving to Business Central Cloud could not mean starting from scratch or losing important process logic. At the same time, the migration was not supposed to become a large, expensive and hard-to-control project.
Comparable providers had submitted six-figure proposals for the migration. While those approaches were technically understandable, they were commercially difficult to justify. In addition, many traditional NAV migration projects involve multiple upgrade stages, extensive testing cycles and a hard cutover.
The customer was looking for a different path: direct, transparent, remotely manageable and with reduced go-live risk.
