Download DataMigrate Pro<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Download the current version of DataMigrate Pro from AppSource <\/a>in Business Central.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Configuration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Open the DataMigrate Pro configuration page by searching for “DataMigrate Pro”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now open the “Client Configuration” page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fill in the fields under Connection Information. You can enter the registration key below. If you need a registration key for testing, contact us<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now close the “Client Configuration” page. Then click the “NAV Source” menu item and configure the object IDs according to your requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now click the “Destination Tables” tile. This reads in the structure of the Business Central tables for the first time:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then click “Import Mapping from repository”. This reads in the source structure (the default mapping for the version you selected on the “Client Configuration” page):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Downloading the required files<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Create a folder on your PC or server where the following files have to be stored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Under “Tasks”, click the menu item “Download the DataMigrate PRO Client”. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Click “NAV Source” and then the “Export” button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Click “Client Configuration” and then the “Export Commands” button<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Running DataMigrate Pro<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    All files you downloaded in the previous step have to be moved into the same folder on your computer or server, if that has not happened already:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Now import the file “NavisionObjectsNAVXXX” into the object designer of Navision \/ Dynamics NAV and compile it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Starting the migration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    1. Run the file register.cmd<\/strong> (only needed once).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Run the file loadconfiguration.cmd<\/strong> (only needed once, as long as nothing has changed in the target structure)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Run the following command in the command line tool or PowerShell. The data migration now starts:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
