For production use, the connection settings are loaded from&nbsp;<code>settings.json<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><code>--install \"DataMigrate PRO Synch-Service DWP\"<\/code>&nbsp;installs the listener in the Windows service wrapper (launcher) and sets up the specified service name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><code>--registration ... --tenantid ...<\/code>&nbsp;checks and stores the registration\/license key and the Azure AD tenant. Without a valid registration, the tool stops running as a service after a short time.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-voraussetzungen\">Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Windows server with administrator rights (required to install the service).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A copy of the DataMigratePro program folder (including&nbsp;<code>DataMigratePro.exe<\/code>,&nbsp;<code>settings.json<\/code>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Network access to:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The SQL Server hosting the Business Central databases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Business Central OData endpoint (<code>Upload_LoadData<\/code>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Azure Service Bus namespace for incoming jobs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SQL permissions for the service user\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At least db_reader on the Business Central databases<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the migration database and the mapping database have been created, grant db_owner permission on them<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Registration key (<code>--registration<\/code>) and Azure AD tenant ID (<code>--tenantid<\/code>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-installationsschritte\">Installation steps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Prepare the folder<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Copy the complete delivery to&nbsp;<code>C:\\Programme\\DataMigratePro<\/code>&nbsp;(or another target without spaces in the path).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure that&nbsp;<code>DataMigratePro.exe<\/code>&nbsp;and <code>settings.json<\/code>&nbsp;can be reached, and that the service user is allowed to create the Logs directory in that path and to write log files there.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Create or adjust settings.json<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Create or update&nbsp;<code>settings.json<\/code>&nbsp;in the installation folder following the example in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/IOIntegrated\/DataMigratePro\/blob\/preproduction\/docs\/DataMigratePro-Synch-Service-DWP.md#beispielkonfiguration-settingsjson\">sample configuration<\/a> section.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prepare the registration<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open an administrative PowerShell.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Change to the installation folder:&nbsp;<code>cd C:\\Programme\\DataMigratePro<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Run the registration<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Run the command above, but&nbsp;<strong>without<\/strong>&nbsp;<code>--install<\/code>, to validate the licence and Service Bus data:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>.DataMigratePro.exe -t listen &#8211;registration &#8220;&lt;dein-registrierungsschl\u00fcssel&gt;&#8221; &#8211;tenantid &#8220;&lt;deine-tenant-id&gt;&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On success, the Service Bus parameters (queue names, connection string) are added to&nbsp;<code>settings.json<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Install the service<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Then start the final installation:.DataMigratePro.exe -t listen &#8211;install &#8220;DataMigrate PRO Synch-Service&#8221; &#8211;registration &#8220;&lt;dein-registrierungsschl\u00fcssel&gt;&#8221; &#8211;tenantid &#8220;&lt;deine-tenant-id&gt;&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The launcher registers a Windows service. The log output is redirected to the Windows event log.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Start the service<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open&nbsp;<code>services.msc<\/code>, look for&nbsp;<strong>DataMigrate PRO Synch-Service DWP<\/strong>, set the startup type to&nbsp;<em>Automatic<\/em>&nbsp;and start the service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-funktionsweise-des-service-bus-listeners\">How the Service Bus listener works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The listener monitors the configured&nbsp;<code>RequestQueueName<\/code>&nbsp;for incoming messages. Each message triggers the data processing pipeline of DataMigrate PRO.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responses and status messages are written to&nbsp;<code>ResponseQueueName<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The loop runs continuously and uses short polling intervals (about 1 second) to detect new messages.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Errors are written to the Windows event log; in the case of serious errors, the service stops with a corresponding error code.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ioitempold.dreamhosters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-8-1024x343.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-994977\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-konfiguration-in-business-central\">Configuration in Business Central<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Business Central extension must be set up with the same&nbsp;<code>connectionId<\/code>&nbsp;as the&nbsp;<code>settings.json<\/code>, so that messages can be assigned to the listener unambiguously.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where possible, use a uniquely generated identifier (for example a GUID or a generated password) as the&nbsp;<code>connectionId<\/code> to rule out overlaps with other integrations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Business Central configuration also holds the endpoint of the prepared Azure Function together with the access key generated in Azure. Without it, the application cannot place messages in the Service Bus queue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-beispielkonfiguration-settings-json\">Sample configuration
